CARLISLE, Pa. — Carlisle Police say there is new surveillance evidence in the Daniel Harris homicide investigation. Carlisle Police are being assisted by State Police and Federal authorities as well as law enforcement across the county.

The shooting death of Harris, in front of 20 eyewitnesses at an American Legion hall in June, remains a mystery.

Police call it an assassination. The shooting happened just before 1 am on Saturday, June 11th at American Legion Post 826 in Carlisle.

Police say 30-year-old Daniel “DJ” Harris Jr. was sitting at a table when an unknown gunman struck him down.

A suspect hasn’t been identified, but previous surveillance video did show a person of interest.

“This was not a random act. Mr. Harris was the target, and this person came in and killed him,” said Carlisle interim police chief Lt. Steve Latshaw in June.

Carlisle police ask for the community’s help in solving the case. Anyone with information may contact the police with an anonymous tip at 717-240-6660.
