FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa.– A woman was airlifted to the hospital after a house fire.

Sometime around 7:00 a.m., crews responded to the 10000 block of S. Mountain Road in Quincy Township for a reported fire.

According to a State Police report, when fire personnel arrived, they found the victim, later identified as Jean Verdier, trapped inside her home. Verdier was rescued, then transported by ambulance to a landing zone and airlifted to Johns Hopkins Hospital Bayview Medical Center, where she is in critical condition.

The fire originated on the first floor of the home, State Police say. The cause is currently listed as undetermined, though the investigation is still ongoing, according to police.

There were no signs of foul play detected, police say.
