MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa.–A man convicted of murdering his 19-year-old girlfriend in 2004 was found dead Wednesday in his prison cell in Montgomery County.
Micah Stewart, 30, was found unresponsive in his cell around 3:27 a.m. on March 9 at SCI-Graterford.
Corrections staff responded and provided aid. Stewart was pronounced dead in the prison infirmary.
Stewart bludgeoned Fry to death just days after she gave birth to their daughter. Her burned body was found by a hunter in a field six months later in Manor Township.
He had been an inmate at SCI-Graterford since February 2011.
