A 19 mile section of the Pennsylvania Turnkpike will be closed in both directions on Sunday, March 29th.

The highway will be closed between the Harrisburg East Interchange (Exit 247) and Lebanon Lancaster Interchange (Exit 266).

The closure will last from Midnight to 6:00 A.M.

Crews are removing the Nissley Road bridge that crosses over the turnpike in Lower Swatara Township, Dauphin County.

The recommended detour for westbound motorists is to exit at the Lebanon-Lancaster interchange, take Route 72 North to Route 322 West to Interstate 283 South and reenter the turnpike at the Harrisburg East interchange.

The recommended detour for eastbound motorists is to exit at the Harrisburg East interchange, take I-283 North to Route 322 East to Route 72 South and return to the turnpike at the Lebanon-Lancaster interchange.

Alternate-route cards will be available to travelers, who should expect higher traffic volumes on the recommended detour routes.
