State Police charge former Cumberland County carnival games operator with indecent assault of child

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police have charged a former Cumberland County carnival game business owner with multiple counts of indecent assault. 

According to PSP, Richard Lee Ridley, 53, a registered sex offender, has been charged with indecent assault- person unconscious, indecent assault- person less than 13 years old, corruption of minors- defendant age 18 or above and indecent exposure. 

In February of 2024, Ridley was arrested for failing to report his carnival game business per Megan's Law. 

In December of 2023, PSP Carlisle received a ChildLine referral reporting that Ridley had sexually assaulted an underage victim from 2018 to 2022. 

The victim was reportedly between the ages of 9-12 years old. 

Ridley allegedly indecently assaulted and exposed himself to the victim multiple times. 

On April 22, Ridley was arrested by the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office and PSP. He is currently at Cumberland County Prison on $200,000 bail. 

State Police believe there could be additional victims of Ridley in the southcentral Pennsylvania area. Anyone with additional information regarding Ridley’s business or other incidents involving him is encouraged to contact Trooper Jacob Fackler at 717-249-2121.
