Harrisburg man sentenced to over 14 years in prison for cocaine trafficking

George E. Jones, 43, of Harrisburg, was sentenced to over 14 years in prison for trafficking cocaine and violating the conditions of a term of supervised release.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Harrisburg man faces over 14 years in prison for drug trafficking charges, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

George E. Jones, 43, of Harrisburg, was sentenced yesterday to 151 months’ imprisonment to be followed by three years on supervised release for trafficking cocaine. He was also sentenced to a consecutive 24-month prison term for violating the conditions of a term of supervised release he was serving for a prior federal drug trafficking conviction.

Jones was first convicted of drug trafficking in 2011 and served an approximately 10-year federal prison sentence. He began selling crack and powder cocaine in Harrisburg again less than two months after he was released in 2020 while still under supervision.

United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam says Jones pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine and 28 grams and more of cocaine base on July 20, 2023.
