Philadelphia man arrested following Lancaster County police chase, two homes damaged and gas leak reported

According to police, Waleem Felder, 45, was speeding when he attempted a turn and crashed into an occupied home in Lancaster, severing a gas line.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A Philadelphia man is facing multiple charges after leading a police chase and crashing into two homes, causing a gas leak. 

According to online court documents, Waleem Felder, 45, is facing charges of fleeing or attempting to elude officers, risking a catastrophe, evading arrest or detention on foot, accident involving damage to an attended vehicle/property and four counts of duties at a stop sign. 

On Nov. 13, officers attempted to pull over Felder for a traffic stop, according to the affidavit of probable cause, but he fled westbound. A chase ensued where Felder allegedly failed to stop at multiple stop signs and red lights. 

According to police, Felder was speeding when he attempted a turn and crashed into an occupied home in Lancaster, severing a gas line and causing a severe gas leak, which required attention from Fire Personal Response and Utility Response. 

Felder allegedly then drove up onto the sidewalk before crashing into another residence. 

He then attempted to flee from police before he was arrested.

According to police, Felder has a suspended Pa. driver's license with 21 prior convictions. He was arrested but posted bail on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
