Giant opens Direct E-Commerce hub

CAMP HILL, Pa. — GIANT Direct orders at a Camp Hill shopping center are being modified.

To evolve alongside the e-commerce business, GIANT Direct orders placed at GIANT Food Stores on East Trindle Road in Camp Hill will be moved to the Camp Hill GIANT Direct wareroom. With the move, GIANT Direct orders in that area will be picked up by store team members in area stores and delivered by a third-party partner.

According to GIANT officials, the operations will transition by the end of April.

As for team members who conduct GIANT Direct orders, GIANT officials stated that all team members were offered "comparable positions at other e-commerce facilities, perishable distribution center(s) or stores."

Moving forward, orders will now be picked or "shopped" by GIANT Direct team members, now known as "Grocery Getters." Customers should expect orders to now be delivered by a third-party partner.

Some benefits GIANT officials claim customers will see include:

  • Faster delivery times; orders can be delivered in as little as two hours
  • Delivery windows are now only one hour, which means less time waiting
  • Customers can make order changes up until 2-3 hours before the delivery window (v. 4-6 hours previously)

GIANT officials say there will be no change in operations at GIANT's five other e-commerce facilities at this time.
