BERWICK, Pa. — A Girl Scout in Columbia County is working toward her bronze award.
5th grader Chloe Birt organized a prom dress giveaway at Intoxicology Department Bar and Restaurant in Berwick on Sunday.
Chloe helped to collect more than 150 dresses, along with shoes to be given to ladies for their special night.
"Because my friend wasn't able to afford dresses, so we bought some for her; that's the reason I did this prom closet," said Chloe Birt, Girl Scout.
50 dresses were given out at the event, and a seamstress volunteered to help anyone with needed alterations for their dresses in Columbia County.
