YORK, Pa. — Tuesday is the first day of spring, and to celebrate, Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard is giving away free 6-ounce cups of ice.
Guests can pick from Rita's Italian Ice classics or try Rita's newest flavor, SOUR PATCH KIDS Watermelon Ice. According to a press release, a Rita’s spokesperson said they expect to give away around 1 million cups of ice across more than 550 stores in the United States today.
"Our first day of spring giveaway has become a cherished tradition with our guests, and this year, we're elevating the celebration with the exclusive launch of SOUR PATCH KIDS Watermelon Ice," said Linda Chadwick, president and CEO of Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard.
According to a press release, SOUR PATCH KIDS Watermelon Ice will only be available at Rita's for a limited time. The new flavor can be enjoyed as a Gelati served with vanilla custard and as a Watermelon Ice Blender. Additionally, Rita's is offering a new sour watermelon topping to go alongside the new ice.
