PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — The Prince George's County Animal Shelter took to Facebook Wednesday morning to make a desperate plea to save 28 dogs that will be euthanized if they are not adopted by Thursday at noon.
Editor's Note: Good news! 27 out of 28 dogs set to be euthanized have found their forever homes thanks to our community.
According to the Facebook post, the 28 dogs have been labeled urgent for space. They will need to be adopted or be committed to a rescue by Thursday at noon and have to be taken from the shelter by 6 p.m. or they will be euthanized.
The dogs are currently up for adoption at the Prince George's County Animal Shelter located as 3750 Brown Station Road, Upper Marlboro.
The adoption fees have been waived for all 28 dogs. The shelter says all animals come with age-appropriate shots, testing and altering surgery. However, those who wish to rescue a "terrier mix" must come with two forms of proof of residency outside of Prince George’s County because of breed-specific legislation.
