Common and curious crops at the Pennsylvania Farm Show

Farming is in the name at the Farm Show in Harrisburg, and Pennsylvania farming includes a lot of crops we don't think about.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The most common things we tend to see at the Pennsylvania Farm Show are the animals, the butter sculpture, and the milkshakes.

Jon Meyer took the Pennsylvania Road to the annual celebration of agriculture in Harrisburg and found there's a lot more included in farming than most people think.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show, the nation's largest indoor agricultural event, runs from Saturday, January 6 through Saturday, January 13, 2024, in Harrisburg, PA, at the PA Farm Show Complex & Expo Center, 2300 N. Cameron St., Harrisburg, PA 17110.

The event features nearly 6,000 animals, 12,000-plus competitive events and exhibits, plus nearly 250 commercial exhibits and hundreds of educational and entertaining events, celebrating how we are Connecting Our Communities.

Admission is free. Farm Show Parking is $15, and all major credit cards are accepted. There is a free shuttle service that will deliver attendees to the entrances.
