Dutch Wonderland prepares for earliest opening in park history

Dutch Wonderland will have its earliest opening in park history on March 29 when it kicks off its Easter celebration.

LANCASTER, Pa. — It's a sure sign of warm weather to come: Dutch Wonderland is preparing to open the amusement park for the season.

The park's earliest opening ever will take place on March 29, with plenty of activities planned to celebrate the Easter holiday.

Courtney Burkarth, marketing director, says the Eggcellent Easter Celebration, which runs through May 19, also salutes spring and the return of mild weather. There will be massive Easter eggs and over 7,000 live flowers blooming across the park.

"We are all hands on deck right now because we are ready to open on Friday," Burkarth said. "We are decorating, we are testing rides already—the rollercoaster has been going nonstop this week just getting ready to go—Tuft is in the park... So we are just very excited and ready to welcome everyone back into the park."

Some of the events families will have a chance to enjoy include dining with Tuft the Easter Bunny, juggling lessons and meet-and-greets at Bunny Hop Plaza, fairytales told by beloved characters at Storytime Corner and unique kid challenges at Whirlygig lane.

Burkarth says Dutch Wonderland is still hiring for the season. To view open jobs, check out the park's website.

Dutch Wonderland will be open Friday - Monday this weekend and Saturdays and Sundays for the rest of the Eggcellent Easter Celebration. The hours are 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. throughout the spring season. The park’s water park, Duke’s Lagoon, will open Saturday, May 25, and the park will also extend its hours until 7 p.m.

Tickets and season passes are up to 40% off right now.
