PENNSYLVANIA, USA — A native of Canada, Ryan is happy to make Pennsylvania his home as the evening reporter at FOX43. However, he has had multiple roles at the station since joining the team in April 2021, including as a producer and sports reporter. He also puts together FOX43's weekly Travel Smart series that highlights various locations, events and activities around central Pennsylvania.
Ryan grew up in Toronto, Canada and attended Western University for a Bachelor of Science in Biology, where he also played for the school's rugby team, before moving to New York to complete a Master's in Journalism at Hofstra University.
Ryan was a member of three-time Marconi Award winning radio station, WRHU, as a contributor to both its news and sports departments. He was an in-game sports update anchor and reporter for New York Islanders broadcasts airing over 88.7 FM WRHU, ESPN Radio and Sirius XM. Ryan also previously worked at CBS News Radio in New York City as a news desk associate.
During his journalism career, Ryan has won a Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Award for ‘Outstanding Television Coverage of a Local Sporting Event,’ a New York State Associated Press Award for 'Best Radio Sports Feature' and an Emmy-nominee for 'Environmental/Science - Long Form Content.'
Ryan strives to continue his passion of sharing interesting, informative and compelling stories to give viewers a snapshot into the central Pennsylvania community. When he's not reporting you can find him hopelessly cheering for his hometown sports teams the Toronto Maple Leafs, Raptors and Blue Jays while watching a little rugby on the side.
