ATLANTA — QUICK FORECAST:
Thursday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue. High: 94°.
Friday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. High: 94°.
Saturday: 50% chance for afternoon storms. High of 92°.
Showers and storms remain possible each day through the weekend. More widespread rain is likely Saturday and Sunday which could put a damper (or cancel) many outdoor plans.
Storms on Thursday do have a higher potential to turn strong or severe. All of North Georgia is included in a level 1 to level 2 risk for severe weather. The main threat will be for gusty, potentially damaging, winds.
Despite the rain chance, temperatures remain hot. Highs will heat to the low to mid 90s but feel more like 100+ with the high humidity. This could potentially put us into Heat Advisory territory again.
The cold front on Saturday that brings more widespread rain will also have an impact on temperatures. Don't expect a major cool down, but highs will fall into the mid to upper 80s.
