Tractor trailer strikes home in Franklin County

The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries, State Police said. The occupant of the home was uninjured, but it took about 15 minutes to extract him, police said.

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Emergency crews responded to the scene after a tractor trailer struck a home in Franklin County Monday morning.

The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries, according to State Police at the scene.

The incident occurred around 9:15 a.m. on the 7900 block of Molly Pitcher Highway in Southampton Township. The cause of the crash is unknown and under investigation, according to State Police.

The house that was struck was occupied by an adult man, who was uninjured, police said.

It took about 15 minutes to extract the driver from the tractor trailer and the occupant of the home, police said.

Crews then concentrated on securing the structural integrity of the home, according to police.

The incident remains under investigation.
