Motorcyclist killed in Silver Spring Township crash Sunday night, police say

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Update, 4:20 p.m. (June 20): The Cumberland County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as Willie C. Barnes, 48, of Camp Hill.

Barnes died of multiple traumatic injuries, the coroner said.

Update, 11:50 a.m. (June 20): Silver Spring Township Police say the operator of a motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 7:20 p.m. Sunday.

The crash involved a black 2021 Kawasaki motorcycle and a red 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, according to police. 

The truck was traveling west on Route 114 when it made a left turn and was struck by the motorcycle, which was traveling east, police say. 

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Cumberland County Coroner's Office after notification of family.

The crash remains under investigation.

The coroner is responding to a multi-vehicle crash in Cumberland County.

According to 911 Dispatch, the Silver Spring Township Police Department responded to the crash on Pa. 114 earlier Sunday evening.

East and westbound lanes remain closed between Woods Drive and Technology Drive for the time being.
