YTI Lancaster faculty and students are advocating the message of awareness through a `silent witness` display featuring silhouettes of Lancaster County victims with detailed stories of their domestic violence struggles starting Monday, October 7 through Thursday, October 10.
The silent witness display is used to raise awareness about the impact of domestic violence and show the important role schools and the workplace can offer to help.
‘Domestic violence is an issue our school is committed to advocating for,’ said Allison Meckley, Director of Student Services. ‘The topic itself can be intense, but we are devoted to being an active partner in the solution to domestic violence by increasing the awareness and available solutions for our students, faculty and staff.’
The large, multi-panel exhibit is non-graphic in nature, and will be located in the hallway between Student Services and Financial Aid. Volunteers are available during certain hours to give tours of the exhibit and answer any questions.
