MILLERSVILLE, Pa.-- A wish will be coming true for a local boy who has had a rough start to his young life.

Six-year old Everest Kennedy received a special welcome to the court during halftime at the Millersville Men's Basketball game on Saturday afternoon.

With help from the team and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, it was revealed that Everest will be going to Legoland in Florida.

He was born premature and suffered from several illnesses, including Chronic Lung Disease and had holes in his heart as an infant. He's had to undergo many surgeries on his spine and continues to undergo therapy. His family says they're grateful for the support from the community.

"You don't think you're going to have a child with a bunch of medical needs and then have a community rally behind a family is just amazing. Legos are his favorite thing. He likes building things with legos so he's very excited to go," said Megan Kennedy, Everest's mother.

Everest and his family plan to take their trip to Legoland in April.
