Even though spring is just 24 hours away, Old Man Winter apparently hasn’t gotten the memo.  People all across Central Pennsylvania waking up to snow covered side roads, snowy grass and cold temperatures.  And it appears that the mercury will not be rising any time soon.

The good news is that most of Central PA’s roads are in good shape, with no significant icing and mostly just wet pavement.  PennDOT in York County reports free and clear conditions, with just a little slushy build up on the sides of the roads.  Crews will be out this morning clearing the rest of the slush and ponding water off the roads for a safe morning commute.

This scene is much different than rush hour last night when a heavy snow blew through much of the area, leaving behind 1 to 3 inches of snow in most places.  Dozens of accidents were reported across the area.

The weather is also causing some school delays.  Click here for the latest on delayed openings for some school kids.
