Toddlers who watch more than two hours of television a day may face problems with math, vocabulary and physical development, according to a recent study from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
The study examined the viewing habits of about 2,000 children in Quebec at the age of 29 months and looked at how the extra screen time affected them when they started kindergarten.
Every hourly increase in daily TV viewing over the recommended two-hour limit at the younger age was associated with vocabulary, math and attention problems. Researchers also pointed out that those children had a higher risk of being picked on in class.
