Furry friends joined their human companions today in Lancaster for a walk for abandoned animals.
The 24th annual Tailwagger’s Trot welcomed all sorts of pets to Buchanan Park this morning. The yearly event raises money for the animal rescue fund, which provides shelter, care, and medical treatment to homeless animals. Folks there took part in a one mile trot, followed by food, music and animal rescue vendors.
“It’s a beautiful day to celebrate pet ownership and mostly you are going to see dogs, but we get cats in strollers, I’ve heard there is a pigma goat coming, so we really welcome all species of animals friends to come and just celebrate rescued pets and pet ownership ” said Megan Gallagher VP of the Development and Outreach
The top three trotters received prizes and recognition int he Humane League of Lancaster County’s Publication “Paw Prints.”
