YORK, Pa.--Dozens of students from across York County are exploring new skills, opportunities and even careers. Maring Library in York hosted its 10th annual Youth Empowerment Summit.

The summit is planned by the library's teen advisory board. The "teens for teens" event gives high school students a chance to explore new experiences through workshops which range from gardening and dance, to studying abroad and learning interview skills.

Team program coordinator, Dawn States says, "These guys may not come in contact with these workshops that we provide through school or their extracurricular activities. So by having it here, this is open, and free and a welcome to them so that's the beauty of it."

About 145 students in grades 9 through 12 from across York County came out to the summit.
