WEST MANCHESTER, Pa.(WPMT) The Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center President & CEO Kenneth Wesler, 50 and his wife, Deborah, 54, face charges after police discover marijuana plants growing at the front door of their York County home.

Acting upon a tip, West Manchester Township Police went the couple’s West Manchester home along the 1400 block of Wheatfield Drive on September 23.  When police arrived at about 8:15 pm, they saw two very large marijuana plants, both approximately 5 to 7 feet tall, growing to the left and right of the front door.

According to court documents, Wesler admitted that he smoked marijuana along with his wife. He told police that they would find loose marijuana and paraphernalia in their bedroom.  He also said that several stems from the marijuana plants growing outside the front door were drying in the basement.  Deborah Wesler also told police the same thing. She said the couple planted the marijuana along with their vegetables because they were embarrassed to purchase marijuana from a dealer. The coupe stated that this was the second year that they had attempted to grow marijuana at their home.

The Wesler’s are each  charged with Manufacture of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The couple is free on bail pending a preliminary hearing.
