UPDATE, 1:35 p.m.: The victim has been identified as Eddie R. Green.

ADAMS COUNTY, Pa.– UPDATE (January 11, 8:15 a.m.): A 62-year-old Hanover man is dead after suffering a medical event prior to a crash.

On January 10 around 10:00 a.m., police responded to the area of W. King Street at Abbotts Street in Abbottstown Boro for a reported crash.

Police found that a 1983 blue GMC 2500 was traveling west on W. king St. when it struck some traffic cones on the roadway in an active construction zone.

The vehicle proceeded to travel into the oncoming lane off the side of the roadway, striking some mail boxes and a concrete step.

Next, the vehicle struck a utility pole and stop sign before continuing down and striking a dirt embankment and stone wall.

The vehicle still continued through a front yard and down an embankment and stone wall before coming to its final rest partially on the roadway.

Police found that the driver had suffered a medical event and died prior to the crash.

His identity will be released pending notification of next of kin.

PREVIOUSLY: One person is dead following a crash in Adams County on Thursday morning, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The crash involving a pickup truck into a pole happened just after 10 a.m. at the intersection of West King Street and Abbott Street in Abbottstown Borough.

No word yet on the identity of the victim.
