MT. JOY, Pa. - In some cases, it is the sales on Black Friday weekend that bring people out to the stores. When it comes to "rifle season eve" people are shopping for the last-minute items they need to head into the woods. Rifle deer season in Pennsylvania kicks off Monday.
Kinsey's Outdoors, in Mt. Joy, Lancaster County, opened a few hours early on Sunday so people could make it the store and then, head to deer camp. The biggest sellers were rifles and ammunition. They even offered coffee and donuts to customers.
"This is all planned months and months in advance. The big thing is preparing all the staff to be ready to handle the guys that are coming in and getting everyone excited to be here because, ya know that's why we are here," said Alex Smay from Kinsey's.
Smay and his staff are excited to get into the woods themselves as well.
