YORK COUNTY, Pa. – A bizarre incident involving a rampaging naked man ends with his arrest at gunpoint by an off duty police officer. The incident began at about 6:20 pm at the Motel 6, 323 Arsenal Road in Manchester Township.

Northern York County Regional responded to call for a naked man on the third floor of motel causing a commotion. Before police arrived on the scene the man jumped from a third floor balcony and landed on the windshield of a car in the motel parking lot.
The suspect then ran to the Sheetz convenience store at 215 Arsenal Road.  Inside the store the man caused general mayhem throwing items about the store. The suspect then ran out into the parking lot and began pulling on the car door of a female customer. The woman remained in her locked car screaming for help.

An off duty member of the law enforcement community heard the woman’s scream for help and intervened. He ordered the man to the ground at gun point. The suspect was then subdued with the help of two other private citizens. Police arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody.
The suspect is a 24 year old York man.  He was taken to York Hospital for injuries suffered when he jumped from the motel balcony. Police say the unidentified suspect will be charged appropriately once their investigation into the incident is completed.
