It has been 18 days since a New Cumberland teenager disappeared along the Susquehanna River. Despite cold, windy weather searchers have continued to look for 17-year old Medard Kowalski. The teen left in a canoe to go hunting and never returned.

The group of volunteers with New Cumberland River Rescue has been searching for Medard since December 1st.

New Cumberland River Rescue volunteers left from the New Market Boat Launch on Thursday with a new lead. Equipped with underwater cameras, they searched for Medard with a possible new lead. Two cadaver dogs narrowed the search to an area near the boat launch. "We had cadaver dogs out yesterday and pinpointed an area. We are focused on that area," said Lt. Jeff Miller with New Cumberland River Rescue.

The cold weather isn't helping. "You get cold very fast. They [wet suits] are very thin so I have to wear a sweatshirt under it. And the wind affects the river and the waves, so it does make it very difficult. But we push through," said Lt. Miller

Lt. Miller said he is working to get certified divers to help with the search. He also said they will be out again Friday morning around the same location.

"I have a son myself. I want to help to try to find him," said Lt. Miller
