SILVER SPRING TOWNSHIP (WPMT)-A Mechanicsburg man was arrested Wednesday after police said he tied up and raped a 15-year-old girl after spiking her drink in July.
Authorities charged 28-year-old Patrick V. McCutcheon with rape, statutory sexual assault, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors, reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint of a minor, false imprisonment and unauthorized administration of an intoxicant. He was arrested Jan. 7 and taken to Cumberland County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail.
The alleged incident took place in July at a home in Silver Spring Township. The victim told police she was playing a game of pool with McCutcheon in the basement of the home before the rape occurred, court records state.
During the game, McCutcheon asked the girl if she’d like a drink and went upstairs to get a beverage. McCutcheon returned a short time later with a cup of juice. According to court documents, the girl drank half of the juice and thought it “tasted funny.” The girl told investigators that shortly after drinking the juice–she began to fill dizzy, could not focus and things were blurry.
The girl said she remembered waking up with her hands tied over her head to a railing on a futon sofa, according to the criminal complaint. She also noticed her shorts and underwear were removed and McCutcheon was pulling his pants up, court documents state.
The girl told authorities that she began to scream for help–but McCutcheon told her to shut up. She managed to free herself and get dressed before falling asleep on the living room couch, court records state.
The girl told police she woke up the next day with bruising and bleeding in her genital area. She also told investigators she took two showers because she felt “gross,” police said in charging documents.
McCutcheon is also accused of making threatening comments to the girl, stating, “If you tell anyone, they will not believe you,” the girl told police. She also stated that McCutcheon said, “If you tell, I will make your life a living hell and you wish you were dead,” according to the criminal complaint.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 21.
