YORK COUNTY -- State Police are investigating a suspected hit-and-run accident that occurred overnight.

Red Lion resident Dennis Tyndall posted video of the incident, which occurred around 1:44 a.m. on the 200 block of 1st Avenue, on his Facebook page. The video was taken from a surveillance camera at his home.

The video depicts a vehicle striking multiple parked cars. It then appears to flee from the scene.

Cindy Richardson owns one of the parked cars, a 2007 Nissan Versa, and says it is now totaled.

She said some of the neighbors were awoken by the crash.

“I heard a large crash, got out of bed, looked out my window and went “ugh” it’s my car,” said Richardson.

She said she is working with her insurance company and will have to pay her deductible, new car payments and will have to get a new car seat since the current one was involved in an accident.

“I’m really depressed. My car was paid off and I transport my grandchildren in this car. This is my work transportation, this is all my transportation so I’m really, really, really upset,” said Richardson.

The suspect vehicle appears to be a dark blue or black Hyundai Santa Fe, according to Tyndall.

Tyndall, who owns First Avenue Collision, said their new surveillance cameras caught the crash.

“We just got it up and going, a few hours, not even,” said Tyndall.

He describes First Avenue as a "racetrack," saying speeding is a concern in the area.

He said he was surprised to see the car that caused the crash was able to keep going.

“I believe the guy was running over 40, 45, maybe 50 miles an hour and that’s how far it shoved the parked car back," said Tyndall.

Richardson said she feels it's unfair that the driver is taking responsibility for the crash.

“The person needs to step up so they can take care of this and make it right,” said Richardson.
