CARLISLE, Pa.– Police arrested a man that had been fraudulently using Postal Money Orders.
Michael Kersey, 24, is facing charges of forgery, theft by deception and unlawful use of a computer for his crimes.
On Wednesday evening at about 5:30 p.m., officers responded to the US Post Office located at 66 W. Louther St. for a report that U.S. Postal Inspectors were attempting to take someone into custody.
Upon arrival, officers found Kersey, who attempted to cash a fraudulent $1000 money order. An investigation conducted by United States Postal Service inspectors revealed he had committed fraudulent use of money orders throughout the area.
During booking, officers found that Kersey had an active warrant resulting from a parole violation and weapons charge in New York.
