HARRISBURG -- A pair of bills sitting before Pennsylvania's House and Senate right now could change the Abortion Control Act.

Under current law, a woman can get an abortion before Week 24 of pregnancy in the Commonwealth. The only exception is if the woman's sole reason is to select the sex of the child.

The proposed legislation would expand the law, adding prenatal diagnoses of Down Syndrome to the list of exceptions.
