A one-time tradition in York, that started in the 1960’s, came back to life on Sunday.
A free concert was held at Kiwanis Lake. Decades ago, the concert was called the “Human Be-In.”
It was held on the first Sunday of each month for about 12 years.
Recently, a local songwriter led a push to bring the event back and succeeded.
“I want kids to see musicians who love what they’re doing and support one another in the doing of that, so we brought together six bands that said let’s make a day of joy and music,” says songwriter John Terlazzo.
The bands that performed included “One Hand Clap,” “Free Breakfast,” and “Voices in the Hall.”
Organizers hope to continue the tradition next spring and summer.
