During a community form against gun violence in Harrisburg, police say a man was shot multiple times in the Allison Hill section of the city. They say the man was chased and then shot along Vernon Street. This all happened while people at the Midtown Scholar were attending the ” Newtown to Harrisburg” forum on gun violence where a panel discussed multiple topics dealing with gun violence. They talked about safety in schools, mental illness, and banning assault rifles.
“ There are many types of guns in my opinion that no one should have. I’m not talking about guns used to hunt or guns used to protect yourself if someone robs you, but to kill lots of people very quickly,” says Senator Daylin Leach ( D) 17th District
Harrisburg police say the man who was shot was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center where they say he is expected to recover.
