A Chester County man is driving his tractor across the country to help support those who have defended our country.

However,  the trip almost didn’t happen. Ivan Stolzfus got permission from PennDOT just yesterday to drive across Pennsylvania on his vintage 1948 John Deere farm tractor. For months Stoltzfus didn’t think the trip would happen.

But after he enlisted the help of State Representative Gordon Denlinger, he got the special permission he needed and now he has a green light all the way to the state line. Stolzfus says he always wanted to go across the country in his tractor and while he isn’t a veteran himself he chose to raise money for the Wounded Warrior project to give back to those who serve our country.

” I’m just delighted that they realize it’s not about me going across the state but about our veterans and helping them,” says Stoltzfus

Stoltzfus is still working to get permission from some of the states he has to travel through.

“One state at a time. I keep focusing on the cause and not focusing on me versus the government but me helping the veterans,” says Stoltzfus

Ivan is hoping to raise $1 million. So far, he’s raised about $17,000. If you’d like to donate click here for more information:
