A waitress in Harrisburg gets the tip of a lifetime from an unexpected customer.
Melissa Manier worked at the Peachtree Restaurant in Harrisburg to help pay her way through college.
She befriended a customer named Benjamin Olewine, III and opened up about her money troubles. Little did she know, Olewine is a local philanthropist.
He offered to pay off her student loans, which left Manier in a state of shock.
“At first, I didn’t exactly understand what he meant,” she says.
Mr. Olewine says, “She left me know how, (paying for college) was a struggle.”
“I was thinking, I do have a bill sitting on my desk right now. So, I was like, well, I’ll bring it in for you if that’s what he’s asking for,” Manier added.
Mr. Olewine is sticking to his word.
Mainer, who is a Registered Nurse, estimated the generous man has shelled out $30,000 for her tuition and other school expenses.
