UNION TOWNSHIP (WPMT)- A 52-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle the parking lot of Swatara State Park in Lebanon County Monday, according to state police.
Bruce C. Fuhrman, of Lebanon, was with a caretaker from his group home when the accident happened near Route 443 in Union Township shortly before 7 p.m. According to investigators, Fuhrman was supposed to wait for his caretaker to bring the van to him in the parking lot. Unaware that Furhman had walked up to the side of the van—the caretaker backed the van out of the parking space and struck Furhman. Police said Furhman was knocked over and fell under the front tires.
Furhman sustained severe injuries to his head and torso and later died. The Lebanon County Coroner’s office has ruled his death accidental in nature.
