Two former employees tell police that the former owner of a local pharmacy plied them with alcohol and sexually assaulted them when they were teenagers. Steven Wiley, 60, former owner of Wiley’s Pharmacy is charged with with Involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, Unlawful contact with a minor, Statutory sexual assault, Corruption of minors and Indecent assault. According to court documents, a former employee came forward to report Wiley had carried on an inappropriate sexual relationship with him for six years, beginning when the victim was 16 years old. The victim said he began working for Wiley in 2007 as a pharmacy tech and for the first six months of his employment the two had a normal employee-employer relationship. Then Wiley started taking the teen out to eat at area restaurants. Wiley would routinely buy alcohol for the teen.

The relationship progressed, and Wiley would take the teen to a condominium he owned at 806 Country Drive, in Lancaster. Wiley continued to furnish the boy with alcohol and began to touch his genitalia and make the teenager touch Wiley’s genitalia. Wiley started to take the teen to a property he owns in the Poconos in the winter of 2007. There, the teen says the relationship progressed and Wiley began performing oral sex on him. The relationship continued over the next few years, and Wiley also took the teen to his primary residence at 1104 Hempfield Drive, where there would be drinking, touching, and oral sex, inside the home and in a hot tub on the property.

Another employee came forward in the course of the investigation to report that while he was an employee of Wiley’s, he too was furnished with alcohol. This employee says he began working for Wiley when he was 16, and that Wiley would invite him and his friends to parties at his residence and provide them with alcohol whenever they wanted it. Wiley allegedly made a sexual advance towards this teen, who told Wiley he was not gay and advised Wiley not to touch him.

Wiley was arraigned before Senior Magisterial District Judge David E. Brian this morning and bail was set at $145,000 cash.  Wiley posted bail and a preliminary hearing has been tentatively set for Friday July 19, 2013.  Wiley faces a state mandatory ten year prison sentence if convicted of Involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.

Wiley’s Pharmacy issued the following statement:

Richard Heilig, President of Wiley’s Pharmacy, today issued the following statement regarding the employment status of Stephen Wiley:

“We were sickened to learn of the allegations about our former president. Even more, that among the alleged victims were our former employees. We first learned of an allegation of inappropriate behavior last winter and quickly made two decisions. The first was to assist law enforcement in any way we could. The second was to place Mr. Wiley on a leave of absence while this matter was being investigated.

“The board of directors voted in December to place Mr. Wiley on a leave of absence from his employment. He also was asked for his immediate resignation as an officer and director, ending his tenure as president.

“After I learned law enforcement was investigating additional allegations against Mr. Wiley, I asked Mr. Wiley, who was still on a leave of absence, for his immediate resignation. I received that resignation this past Sunday, July 7. Stephen Wiley is no longer an employee of Wiley’s Pharmacy.

“We obviously regard this to be a very serious matter. Thousands of Lancaster County residents trust Wiley’s Pharmacy to help them with personal health issues and have done so for more than 20 years. It’s a trust we take seriously.  As president since December, I am committed to continuing to build that trust and we will assist law enforcement in any way possible.”

Stephen Wiley worked almost exclusively at the Wiley’s Pharmacy in Centerville, Lancaster County. Other locations include Millersville, Strasburg and Quarryville.
