HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Four Harrisburg city council members, plus the city's treasurer, were sworn into office at the Martin Luther King City Government Center on Monday.
Of the four council members, three were taking the oath of office for the first time; Cornelius Johnson and Westburn Majors are beginning their four-year terms while Destini Hodges will complete the final two years in the term of the late Eugenia Smith.
Jeffrey Baltimore was re-elected to serve on the city council board.
The three newcomers will replace Sandra Reid, Brad Koplinski, and Smith, who passed away in April 2014.
Tyrell Spradley was sworn into his first full term as city treasurer, a position he was appointed to in November 2014 before winning election last November.
Also on Monday, council members elected Wanda Williams to a third term as council President. She has served consecutive two-year terms as the council's leader since 2012.
