WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa.-- It's the middle of winter, but some people in our area stripped down and bared quite a bit on Saturday. They took part in the Capital Area Polar Plunge at Gifford Pinchot State Park in York County. About 400 people ran, jumped, or in some cases, crept into the water for a good cause.

Each person raised money before the plunge for the Special Olympics of York County.

It was Candace Hurley's first Polar Plunge. She says, "Cold! Cold, so it was very cold, and then as you're going up and it starts getting to this part of the body, you're just like, Oh My Gosh. It was pretty cold."

Pam Matesevac, whose daughter has Down Syndrome says, "It's so nice that everyone is just willing to help and just want to be involved with other people. It's not always about us, you know, it's not always about the individuals, but that we help others."

The Polar Plunge raised more than $75, 000.
