LISBURN, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PA. -- A local fire company doubled as a dining hall on Sunday to raise money for the communities it serves.

The Lisburn Community Fire Company held its final turkey dinner of the year. Dinners are held in order to raise money to support several municipalities including Lisburn, Lower and Upper Allen and Monaghan and Fairview Townships.

One fire chief says he enjoys the events because he can connect with members of the community.

"Normally i'm in a firefighting setting," Brian Ariano, deputy chief of the Lisburn Fire Company said. "Normally we're there running around and pubic interaction is not our highest priority at the scene of your own emergency. For this, it's a lot more fun to sit and talk with people, kind of catch up with some folks you haven't seen for awhile. It's a lot of fun."

Guests could feast on turkey, along with traditional foods like mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing and homemade desserts all while helping a good cause.
