DRY PERIOD ENDS: High pressure pulls away today as a coastal low inches its way along the Atlantic seaboard. We’ll have another dry day today, but clouds will thicken and put a halt to much warming for the day today. We’re getting to the middle 60s, with a cool easterly breeze. The rain holds off until after dark.
COASTAL LOW: This low pressure system will feed off the rich moisture supply over the Atlantic, bringing several periods of rain to close out the week. The flow in the atmosphere remains sluggish, so this thing is in no hurry to get out of here any time soon.
Any rain from tonight will carry over into Thursday. Expect periods of rain for several hours. It will be cloudy, cool, damp, and raw at times. Highs are stuck in the upper 50s. Rain will continue, on and off, through Friday. We’re cloudy too with highs in the low 60s for Friday. Saturday, we should see rain chances lessen, but it will still be cloudy with light showers or drizzle at times. Highs hit the mid to upper 60s. By Sunday, we may see a few more peeks of sunshine. Rain chances should diminish, but there’s still an isolated drop or two possible. Highs Sunday are in the upper 60s.
NEXT WEEK: As the coastal low winds down and shifts farther east, our next frontal system develops to the west. This will bring another shot at rain some time by mid week. However, we’ll sit in between the coastal low and the next system which will keep the clouds around and may even keep the unsettled weather in play. For now, we’re mainly dry Monday and Tuesday with highs near 70°.
