Cumberland County, PA — In an effort to improve efficiency and overall resident care at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (CNRC), Cumberland County recently considered outsourcing dietary, laundry and housekeeping services.  Currently these services are supervised by a 3rd party vendor, but staffed by Cumberland County employees.  At this time the Board of Commissioners has chosen to not outsource these services.

Cumberland County had received 3 bids as a result of a Request for Proposal and after careful consideration determined that none of the options provided significant enough results to make outsourcing the best option for CNRC at this time.  With the goal of finding ways in which staff at CNRC can narrow their primary focus on patient care, it was important to see if outsourcing was a viable option.

CNRC remains a County owned facility and is among a small number of County owned and operated nursing facilities in the state that does not require subsidy from the their General Fund.  The County has made considerable investments into the financial future of CNRC with the addition of Transitions at Claremont, a short term rehabilitation facility.   The County is committed to continuing to find ways to improve quality and efficiency at CNRC.  For more information on CNRC visit www.ccpa.net/cnrc.
