A Perry County couple is dead after being shot and killed at their home.

State Police say they knew the man who killed them. 61-year-old Barry Lee Myers, of Shermansdale, pulled the trigger.

Myers lived in a camper trailer on the same property as that couple. Police identified them as Philip and Lisa Sechrist. They lived at 4385 Valley Road in Carroll Township with the homeowner -- Lisa's mother.

Neighbors tell FOX43, Myers was a longtime friend of the homeowner but often clashed with the couple. The Sechrists lived there part-time while not staying at their Raystown Lake boathouse.

After a Saturday night out, the Seachrists returned home. State Police say around 9:30 p.m., Philip Sechrist was outside of the house and confronted Myers. That's when Myers shot him several times. His wife heard the gun shots and ran outside. Myers then shot her several times. Both died at the scene.

Neighbors tell FOX43, they heard what sounded like gun shots but didn't suspect anything like this to happen, in what they describe as a quiet neighborhood.

Immediately after the shooting, Myers fled in his car, resulting in a manhunt.

Myers was found dead in Grantville, Dauphin County less than 24 hours later, from a self-inflicted gun shot wound.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing. Autopsies are scheduled for Monday for Philip and Lisa Sechrist.
