HARRISBURG, Pa. – The death of a Harrisburg man killed in an industrial accident is ruled accidental by Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick. Hetrick says warehouse worker, James Brownawell, 40, died from multiple traumatic injuries.  The tragic accident happened at about 11 pm Sunday night at Dayton Parts, in the 1300 block of North Cameron Street.  Brownawell was pronounced dead at the scene.

City fire officials say. Brownawell. operating a forklift, was removing bundles of steel from 24 foot shelving in the warehouse. Each bundle measures up to 20 feet long and weigh several tons.

While in the process of removing one bundle, Brownawell, had inadvertently dislodged a second, causing it to jut out into the aisle.  As he turned the forklift to proceed down the narrow aisle, He apparently did see the second bundle sticking out.  He was impaled in the his chest by three sections of flat steel bars.

The fatality is being investigated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration(OSHA).
