MIDDLESEX TWP., Cumberland County, Pa– A Cumberland County father is behind bars after he made several threats against Middlesex Township Police while his son was being arrested earlier this month.
Michael Filaroski, 43, of Carlisle, is charged with two counts of terroristic threats, persons not to possess firearms and firearms not to be carried without a license.
According to court documents, officers stopped Colin Filaroski, Michael’s son, on July 9 after witnessing him conduct a hand-to-hand drug transaction in the parking lot of the Pike Motel located along the 1100 block of Carlisle Pike. Police say Filaroski was in possession of 19 bags of heroin. As police were investigating– Michael threatened police officers and displayed a gun he had in his waistband, court documents state. Michael told the officers he is a member of a 3% militia and said he will shoot every body, court records state.
While taking Colin to his preliminary hearing, he told police that his father has a 9 mm gun and that they would often go to the shooting range and shoot. He also said added that his father is part of a militia.
Colin has since posted $10,000 bail.
Michael is currently in Cumberland County Prison on $150,000 bail.
