Lancaster County Coroner Stephen Diamontoni confirms that a second body in as many days has been recovered from the Susquehanna River. The body was recovered just before 7 o’clock Tuesday evening in Futlton Township. A deputy coroner was dispatched to the scene. Dr. Diamontoni could not confirm whether the body was that of 21 year old Jonny Velez, of Berks County.
Velez, along with 20 year old Cody Moyer disappeared after their boat capsized over the weekend. A third man in the boat, 20 year old Brandon Allen made it safely to shore. Moyer’s body was recovered Monday. The coroner ruled that his death was a fresh water drowning and was accidental.
