YORK COUNTY, Pa. – The body of a Newberry Township man is discovered inside his home early Tuesday afternoon. Police and fire responded at about 12:50 to the home in the 1100 block of Conewago Avenue.  Shortly afterwards the York County Coroner’s Office was notified.

The deceased was identified as 66 year old David Halterman. County Coroner Pam Gay says it appears Halterman died prior to the collapse of his home.  She said that Halterman may have died of natural causes possibly several days ago.

She also ordered tests to determine whether carbon monoxide may have been a factor. The results of the tests will be revealed on Wednesday.

Newberry Township Police are continuing the investigation.
