WEST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa.– The body of a man found in a Lancaster County park on Thursday, has been identified.

West Hempfield Township Police say the man is 24-year old Joseph Ressler, III of Lancaster. Ressler was reported missing to police on March 28th, 2016.

On Thursday, officers were called to a wooded area near the 100-block of Strickler Run Road in Froehlich Park for a reported medical emergency. The caller found him on the ground and he was unresponsive. When officers arrived, they determined the man was deceased and summoned the Lancaster County Coroner’s office.

An autopsy was performed on Friday and the body was identified as Ressler. Results of the autopsy are pending.

Police are investigating Ressler’s death and are asking anyone who had contact with him in the days preceding his death to contact them at (717) 285-5191. They do not believe the public is in any danger.
