Investigators found Young wandered into the wrong wing of the complex and mistakenly entered another resident's room, believing it to be hers.
Both Young and the other resident suffered from dementia, investigators say.
The other resident asked Young to leave, and when Young didn't leave, she shut the door, causing Young to fall, investigators believe.
Investigators now say they do not believe Young's injuries -- or her death -- were caused intentionally. There were very few people in the area when the incident occurred, and no one saw what happened, investigators say.
"This is an isolated incident," said Chief Daniel Stump of Springettsbury Township Police Department. "There is no danger currently to those that are currently there. It's just an unfortunate circumstance."
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to authorities.
"My heart breaks for even the family of Mrs. Young. It is bad enough to lose a family member, then on top of it, have a cloud over how it occurred," added Chief Stump.
Per the recommendations by the York County District Attorney's Office and the Springettsbury Township Police Department, there will be an autopsy Thursday morning at 10.
